Whether we like it or not

   Abstract

Whether we like it or not, our whole world is being reshaped by computer technology. As we move towards an information society, the key solutions are provided by computer scientists. They are the ones that devise the algorithms and data structures that control cell phones, airlines and airplanes, financial transactions, company management, publishing of any kind, the internet and the web, industrial plant control and all other devices and processes that make our world run smoothly.
