In the 1920s prohibition era, criminal gangs ruled Chicago under the leadership of the notorious Al Scarface Capone. Organised crime was big business and rewards were high. In fact, so much was to be made just from alcohol and prostitution, that some estimated Capone's operation was turning $100 million annually a huge sum in 1920s dollars.
